Best Recipe For Chelo Kebab At Home

Our world is so big and so many people live here. They have different lifestyle, different food habits. Many a time we visit restaurants which serve continental foods. We enjoy to have such foods with our friends and family. What if we can make some of these dishes at our home itself which are originated in other countries? it will be lovely right? Today I am going to share a cuisine of Iran which is a combination of rice, chicken, mutton/ beef and egg. This is called Chelow Kebab. It is the national food of Iran.

It Is Really Delicious And Can Easily Be Made At Home. So Friends, Here Is The Recipe:

Recipe For Chelo Kebab

Preparation Time: 2 Hours
Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 4

There are three items to be cooked and then they will be served together in one platter. The items are Mutton/Beef Kebab, Chicken Kebab and Butter Rice. I am sharing the recipes of all the three items and also the serving of platter step by step:

Step 1:

First we will learn how to make Mutton/Beef Kebab. Let’s check the ingredients and process for this.


Minced Mutton/Beef 100 grams ( to make minced mutton/beef take boneless mutton/beef pieces into a grinder and grind it )
Ginger-garlic paste 2 tsp
Red Chili powder 1 tsp
Fresh yogurt 1 tsp
Chopped ginger, garlic, onion 2 tsp each
Salt to taste
Bread crumbs 4 tsp
Refined Oil/ Butter (As per your choice)
4 skewers


Mix everything except bread crumbs and keep aside for at least 2 hours for marination.After 2 hours, mix bread crumbs with the mixture. Now, make 4 balls from the mixture and wrap it into 4 different skewer. press it around the skewers to give it a long shape. Brush oil/ Butter over it. Keep aside for another 10 minutes. After that fry it till all sides become golden.

Step 2:

Next is Chicken Kebab. Let’s check how to make it.


Boneless chicken pieces 200 grams
Fresh yogurt 1 Tsp
Ginger, garlic, onion paste 1 tsp each
Diced tomato, onion, green bell pepper
black pepper 1/2 tsp
2 Skewers
Salt to taste
Butter 2 tsp


Marinate chicken pieces with everything except butter for 30 minutes. After that, take one skewer and put one chicken piece, then a piece of a diced tomato, then a diced bell pepper and then a piece onion. Repeat the same till the skewer have place. Make another skewer in the same way. Brush butter over it. Preheat the oven at 200 degree centigrade. Put the skewer into lower rack of the oven and bake it for 15 minutes. After baking, grill it for 5 minutes to give a golden color.

Step 3:

Last is Butter Rice. Let’s learn it:


Cooked white rice 3 cups (Preferably scented rice)
Salt as per taste
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Freshly chopped parsley leaves 2 tsp
Butter 4 tsp


Melt butter in a pan and then add cooked rice into it. Add salt, pepper powder. Fry the rice properly so that it get coated with butter. Now add chopped parsley and mix it properly. Switch of the flame once the nice fragrance comes out from the rice.

Step 4:

Serving of Chelow Kebab:

Now we are ready with each items. We would need one fried egg and one half of a tomato which is lightly fried into butter for dressing the platter. Remember dressing is the main part of this cuisine. let’s check how to do this:

Put a sufficient amount of butter rice at the middle of plate. Then place a skewer of mutton/beef kebab at one side and one skewer of chicken kebab at another side of the plate. Top the rice with the fried egg and the tomato. One extra cube of butter to be served with the rice to make the dish more tasty.
