Best Recipe Of Schezwan Chicken Served With Sticky Red Rice

Today I am going to share two mouth watering recipes with you. These are Schezwan Chicken and Sticky Rice. Schezwan chicken is a Chinese cuisine. If you love spicy food, you should definitely try this recipe. This chicken dish can be eaten as snacks or as lunch or dinner with any rice preparation. But it will go perfect with sticky rice. Sticky rice is a Vietnamese cuisine. Here I will be using sticky red rice which is available at any super market. However, it can be replaced by normal American brown rice. The taste will remain same. This rice item is very much delicious and healthy as well. So let’s start of making them.

Let’s start with Schezwan Chicken.

1. Schezwan Chicken:

It is a very tasty and yummy dish. If you like spicy food, you must try this.

Schezwan Chicken

Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
Serves: 2


Let’s check what is required to make this delicious spicy dish.

250 grams of boneless chicken cut in to small pieces
100 grams of onion cut into diced
2 tsp finely chopped ginger
1 tsp finely chopped dry chili
1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic
1 tsp finely chopped onion
1/2 cup white wine
3 tsp freshly chopped spring onion
salt as per taste
4 tsp olive oil
1 tsp chili oil
1 tsp schezwan chili powder (Available at any departmental store)
1 tsp of potato starch (Available at any departmental store)
1 tsp sugar

Method of Preparation:

Let’s check what should we do to prepare this.

Step 1

Marinate the chicken pieces with chili oil, schezwan chili powder, potato starch, salt, sugar, olive oil for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Heat oil in a frying pan. Now fry all the chicken pieces until they are golden brown. Do not put all the chicken pieces together. It will then stick with the frying pan. Keep the fried chicken aside.

Step 3

Now add very little oil in a frying pan. On high flame, add chopped ginger and garlic. Fry them till the raw smell of garlic goes off. Now add chopped dry chili, diced onion and chopped onion. Fry them for 1-2 minutes. After that add salt, sugar and white wine in to it. stir for 3-4 minutes. Add fried chicken in to it. Mix the gravy with the chicken. Keep it on high flame for 2 minutes. sprinkle spring onion and switch off the flame.
Our Schezwan Chicken is ready.

We will now be making Sticky Rice.

2. Sticky Rice:

It is a different taste rice dish. You can have it with any gravy preparation. However, it will go just perfect with Schezwan Chicken.

Sticky Rice

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes
Serves: 2


We need some very easily available ingredients to make this.

200 grams of uncooked sticky rice (Available at any supermarket. It can also be replaced by American brown rice)
1/2 cup chopped carrot
2 tsp chopped beans
3 tsp unsalted butter
1/2 tsp sugar
Water as required
Salt as per taste
1 tsp freshly chopped parsley
1/2 tsp black pepper powder

Method of Preparation:

Let’s follow some simple steps to make this delicious healthy recipe.

Step 1

Soak the uncooked rice in to water for 20 minutes. Heat butter in a frying pan. Now add chopped carrot and chopped beans in to it. Fry on high flame for 5 minutes.

Step 2

When the vegetables will become soft, add the soaked rice in to it. Saute for about 5-6 minutes. Now boil one cup of water. Add this boiled water in to the rice. Add salt and sugar. Reduce the flame and cover the frying pan with a lid.

Step 3

After 10 minutes, check if the rice is cooked. If not, then add some more boiled water in to it. When the rice will be fully cooked, add black pepper powder and chopped parsley in to it. Mix them with the cooked rice. switch off the flame. Our sticky rice is done. Serve it hot with Schezwan chicken.
