Most of us have our proclaimed love for pasta dishes. While that may differ for the varieties of pasta available, most of us can’t resist the cheesy and creamy white sauce pasta dishes. Hence, if you are in utter love with white sauce pasta dishes, you may well not want to miss out on this tantalizing chicken Alfredo casserole. A supremely simple and easy cook recipe, this will definitely become one of your savior dishes on busy days.

Ingredients Required :
12 oz. of uncooked penne pasta
4 tablespoons of all purpose flour
3 boneless and skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons of olive oil
3 cups of five cheese blend
1 stick of salted butter, at room temperature
3 cups of milk
1/4th teaspoon of dried thyme
3 cups of half-and-half
2 teaspoons of minced garlic
1/4th teaspoon of poultry seasonings
Salt, to taste
Italian seasonings, for garnishing
Ground black pepper, to taste
Preparation Time :
Marinate the chicken breasts in Italian seasoning overnight. For that, throw the chicken pieces into a zip lock pouch and coat them well with the Italian seasoning. Let the chicken sit in the refrigerator for 12 hours and then remove them once you are ready to cook them.
Then cook the pasta al dente or as it is instructed on the package. Once done, drain the pasta and keep it until slow running water to stop the cooking procedure. Then place a skillet over medium heat and grease it with the vegetable oil. While the oil is heating up, remove the chicken breasts from the zip lock pouch and slice them up in halves.
Then take a bowl and mix the poultry seasoning, salt, black pepper and thyme in it. Throw the sliced chicken pieces into the bowl and rub them nicely with the spice rub. Once done, drop the chicken pieces into the skillet and fry them up for 15-20 minutes or until they are cooked through. Once ready, remove them from the skillet with the help of a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper towel lined plate to absorb the excess oil.
Next, set a preheating temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit on your oven and fetch another skillet. Place that over medium low heat and drop the butter in the skillet. Once the butter melts, throw the minced garlic into it and cook it until it turns fragrant.
Then start adding the flour a little at once, while whisking the sauce continuously with a wire whisk to discourage lump formation. Once the entire flour is added, cook the mixture for another 1 minute or until it turns bubbly and then add-in the half-and-half and the milk. Turn up the heat at this point to allow the sauce to boil for a few minutes and then turn down the heat and allow it to simmer for 5-6 minutes.
Add 1 1/2 cups of the grated cheese after 5 minutes and then allow the sauce to thicken up for an additional 3-4 minutes. Adjust the seasonings at this point. Once ready, remove the sauce from the heat and then fetch a large bowl. Transfer the cooled chicken breast pieces to the bowl and then dump over it the pasta. Finally, add-in the Alfredo sauce on top and then give a mild toss to mix everything up.
Transfer the mixture to a baking tray that has been greased well. Finally, sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 cups of grated cheese and a pinch of black pepper on top. Once ready with assembling the Casserole, pop the baking tray into the preheated oven. Bake the casserole for 30 minutes or until the cheese on top turns bubbly and slightly golden brown in color.
