Delectable Lasagna Roll-Ups Recipe

Hence the formulation of this amazing lasagna roll-ups recipe. This creamy and cheesy lasagna roll-ups are loaded with beef sauce that is fine tuned with aromatic herbs. The creamy cheese sauce on the other hand lends this dish an exhilarating flavor.

Lasagna Roll-Ups

Ingredients Required :

8 oz. of ground beef
2/3rd cup of grated parmesan cheese
28 oz. of crushed tomatoes
1 large sized organic egg
3 tablespoons of olive oil
3 cloves of minced garlic
12 lasagna rolls (uncooked)
2 1/2 cups of grated mozzarella cheese
1/4th cup of finely chopped yellow onion
3 tablespoons of chopped flat leaf parsley
1/3rd cup of freshly grated Romano cheese
1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
3 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil
15 oz. of ricotta cheese
4 tablespoons of olive oil
1/4th teaspoon of salt
1/4th teaspoon of ground black pepper

Method Of Preparation :

Step 1:

Place a non stick cooking pan over medium high heat and drizzle one tablespoon of olive oil in it. Wait until the oil heats up a little. While the oil is heating up, set a preheating temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit on your oven.

Step 2:

Once you are ready with the oil in the pan, crumble the ground beef in it. Add the chopped onions to it and continue frying the beef by stirring it continuously, until it is browned. Once done, transfer the browned beef mixture to a plate and discard the fat.
After that, throw the ground beef mixture into a food processor and pulse it until it gets well grounded. Once that happens, dump it back into the pan and add a tablespoon of olive oil. After that, add the chopped tomatoes, oregano, minced garlic and basil. Give a light stir to mix everything up and then season the mixture with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Turn the heat down to low and simmer the mixture lid on until you cook the pasta sheets.

Step 3:

Now to prepare the pasta sheets, bring a pot of water to boil. Once the water starts boiling vigorously, throw the pasta sheets one by one gently into the water, so as to avoid breaking them. Add a teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil and cook the pasta sheets for as long as it is mentioned in the package. Then take a large bowl and prepare the sauce while the pasta sheets are cooking.

Step 4:

To prepare the pasta sauce, take the ricotta cheese in it and add to it the egg, 1/4th teaspoon of salt and 1/4th teaspoon of ground black pepper. Stir the mixture vigorously until the egg is well combined with the ricotta cheese. Once combined, add 1/2 cups of grated parmesan cheese, 2 cups of grated mozzarella cheese, Romano cheese and the chopped parsley.

Step 5:

Now take a 13X9 inch baking pan and place it on your counter. Line the pan with wax paper or grease it lightly with cooking spray. Check the pasta sheets and drain them out once they are cooked al dente. Line the pasta sheets in one layer in the baking pan. Now take the cooked ground beef and spread 1/3rd cup of the beef mixture over the lasagna sheets.

Step 6:

Follow up by spreading 1/4th cup of the cheese mixture over the beef mixture. After that, spread 1 tablespoon of meat sauce over each cheese mixture covered lasagna sheet. Once done, roll each lasagna sheet like jelly rolls and then place them in the baking pan seam side down.

Step 7:

Finally spread the remaining beef sauce over the lasagna rolls and then sprinkle the 1/4th cup of parmesan cheese and 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese over the rolls. Once you are done, cover the baking dish lightly with an aluminum foil, so that the foil doesn’t touch the cheese but simply covers the rolls, so that you can bake the rolls without browning the cheese.

Step 8:

Once ready, pop the baking pan into the preheated oven and bake the roll-ups for 35 minutes. Finally, serve the roll-ups warm with chopped parsley and basil.
