How To Cook Delicious Galinha Crabs In Coconut And Tamarind Sauce

Crabs are favorite of many people as the dishes made with crabs are just simply delicious. Galinha Crabs in Coconut & Tamarind Sauce is basically an African dish which is so yummy and nutritious too. In fact this preparation is easy to prepare with some basic ingredients from your kitchen.

Galinha Crabs In Coconut & Tamarind Sauce:

Serves: 8

Ingredients:

Coconut 300 gm (chopped)
Green Chili 50 gm
Coriander Leaves 200 gm
Mint Leaves 50 gm
Tomato 100 gm
Onion 20 gm
Ginger 20 gm
Garlic 20 gm
Coriander powder 20 gm
Turmeric powder 5 gm
Cumin powder 20 gm
Tamarind 20 gm
Fried Crabs 1 kg
Crab Stock 500 ml
Olive Oil 100 gm

Method:

Step 1

First you have to grind all the spices. For that pour chopped coconut, green chili, coriander leaves, mint leaves, coriander powder and cumin powder in a grinder jar. Then grind all ingredients to make a smooth paste out of them.

Step 2

Then take a pan and pour olive oil in it. Allow it to boil in medium heat. Pour chopped onion, garlic paste, ginger paste and turmeric powder in it. Cook it for some time.

Step 3

Now add the previously made coconut paste in it and mix. Take half cup of crab stock and soak the tamarind in it for few minutes. Pour rest of the crab stock in the pan and cover the pan with a lid. Cook the whole thing for 10-12 minutes.

Step 4

Then pour the soaked tamarind in the pan separating the tamarind seeds from it and stir it again. Cook it until the curry get half dried and turn off the flame. Your Galinha Crabs in Coconut & Tamarind Sauce is now ready to serve.

Tips:

You can easily find packaged fried crabs in shop. But you can make it in your home also. For that clean the crabs properly with water. Marinate the crabs with salt and turmeric powder for half an hour. Then fry the crabs in olive oil until they turns soft from inside. Your fried crab is ready to use in your recipe. For the crab stock boil crabs in 500 ml of water adding a little salt into water and strain the stock.
