Homemade Hot Cross Buns

This is the dessert for the Christmas party, in this we cut the Easter buns, then we apply the butter in it, then we place this in the tray, we add the cinnamon and nutmeg, we make the layer of the banana and cover it with the buns. We boil the milk and double cream and add this in the beaten egg, caster sugar, we pour this in the tray and bake it and served it.

Double cream- 150 ml
Whole milk- 200 ml
Easter buns-4
Butter- 1 knob
Cinnamon- 1 teaspoon
Nutmeg- 1 teaspoon
Banana- 2
Egg- 2
Caster sugar- 75 gm
Vanilla extract- 1 teaspoon
Brown sugar- 1 tablespoon

Methods Of Preparation:

Step 1

First take the bowl, add the double cream and milk to it, now put this on the low heat and boil it for sometime, stir it regularly so that the it will not come out.

Step 2

Take the Easter cross buns, now cut it half horizontally, now take the butter apply it to all the half of the buns, now take the banana, peel it and slice it nicely. Now take the big pan, place the buns, on it, now sprinkle ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg to it. Now make the layer of the banana slices on it, now cover it with the remaining cross buns nicely.

Step 3

Now take the bowl, crack 2 eggs in it, now mix it, as you get the yellow mixture, add the caster sugar to it, mix it nicely, add 1 teaspoon of the vanilla extract to it, now add the boiling milk to it slowly and keep on whisking fast.

Step 4

Now pour this custard in the pan, dip the upper side of the cross bun in the milk, now again cover it, so that the buns will not get burned. Now leave this mixture for about the 30 minutes so that the milk will be soaked by the buns.

Step 5

Now place this mixture inside the oven at 160 degree Celsius for about the 30 minutes. Take it out and add sprinkle the brown sugar on the top of it, now cut the pieces of the buns and served along with the sauce on the top. The dish is ready to eat.
