Prepare the ingredients before assembling the casserole. Cut potatoes, Onion and Tomato into thin slices. Shred the cabbage. Chop the mint leaves, basil leaves and spinach. Put aside all the prepared vegetables, greens and Chicken.
In a medium sized bowl, put Mayonnaise sauce and add toned milk to it. Now add Oregano and chilli flakes to it and sprinkle with salt to taste. Keep it aside with the prepared ingredients.
Cut the edges off the bread slices and apply butter to it. Keep this aside too.
Preheat the oven and prep it too.
Take a large rectangle baking dish or any suitable baking tray and coat it with cooking spray generously. If you don’t have cooking spray, you can go for traditional dusting with butter and a bit of flour. Now line half of the bread slices on the bottom of the tray to create a layer. Now, arrange the potatoes. apply a thin layer of the Mayonnaise sauce mix. Arrange the onions and again apply a thin layer of the sauce mix. If you’re using chicken, arrange it scantily over the onions.
Now, add spinach and mint and basil leaves layer. Pour all the remaining sauce mix over the spinach. Arrange the tomatoes over it. Now, arrange the remaining bread slices over the tomatoes. If your’e using cheese, you can now grate the cheese over the bread slice. After that, break the egg directly over the casserole and let it fall naturally over the sandwich.
Place the dish gingerly in the oven wearing oven mitts. Let the dish bake for around 15 mins at approx 160 degrees C. Each oven is different. Its always wise to check whether the veggies are cooked at timely intervals. You can also bake this in Convection mode of your microwave. Once done, you can cut the pieces directly from the tray and relish it with some ketchup!
