Easy To Make Mexican Fish Tacos Recipe

Taco is a favorite street food these days. Most of the food trucks sell this yummy dish. It is basically a Mexican dish which consists of a Tortilla which is rolled and is filled with veggies, minced chicken or fish. It is definitely a fresh and delicious dish. It is easy to make, provided if you have the right ingredients.

It is not a complicated dish. You can easily make it at home. You can use a variety of stuffing such vegetables, pulled pork, chicken and even fish. Fish tacos are amazing. They taste fresh and are a great snack along with your drinks. Let us look at the easy to make Mexican fish tacos recipe. Fish tacos are a big hit for family lunches and carnivals. The fish is covered in a beer batter which makes it crunchy and succulent. Oh! Now we are dreaming of these yummy tacos now!

Here Is The Recipe For Mexican Fish Tacos:

Mexican Fish Tacos

Preparation Time : 20  Minutes
Cooking Time : 35 Minutes
Serves : 2


All purpose flour -1 cup
Cornstarch – 2 tablespoon
Salt to taste
1 egg
Lime juice – 1 tablespoon
1 cup beer
Minced Jalapeno Pepper – 1
Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
Plain yogurt – 1/2 cup
Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup
Minced Capers – 1 teaspoon
Dried oregano – 1/2 teaspoon
Ground cumin – 1/2 teaspoon
Oil for frying
Ground cayenne pepper – 1/2 teaspoon
Dried dill weed – 1/2 teaspoon
Cod fillet – 1 pound (cut into 2 pieces)
Corn tortilla – 1 package
Shredded cabbage – 1/2 cabbage

Method Of Preparation :

Step 1

For The Beer Batter

Take a large bowl, combine the all purpose flour, baking powder, cornstarch and salt. Blend the beer and egg and the flour mixture into this and stir it. Make sure there are not too many lumps. A few lumps are fine. Beer batter is supposed to be light and they should be such that it makes the fish the highlight of the taco. If the batter is not right, the fried fish will not taste nice.

Step 2

For The White Sauce

Take a medium bowl and mix mayonnaise and yogurt together. Add fresh lime juice into this  and stir until the sauce becomes a little runny. Season it with cayenne, ground cumin, dill, caper, oregano and jalapeno.

Step 3

Now Comes The Good Part – Lets Fry!!!

Heat oil in a deep fryer. Make sure it 375 degrees F. This is the perfect temperature for frying. If you do not have the means to check temperature, you can use your instinct and fry it when you think the oil is good for frying. We need the fish to be really crispy on the outside.

Step 4

Dust your cod fillet pieces with flour and then dip them one by one into the beer batter. Fry it till it becomes crisp and golden brown. Do not burn the fish. Check it when it starts changing color. It should be crisp.

Step 5

Drain these yummy beer battered fried fish on paper towels and fry the tortillas lightly. The tortillas should not be burnt or fried too much so that they make become crisp. We need them to be soft so that it can be rolled.

Step 6

To Serve :

Spread the tortilla open and place a fried fish in the middle. Top it up with fresh shredded cabbage. Make sure the cabbage is shredded finely. Then put some white sauce. Do not put too much of white sauce else you will not taste the fish.
