Easy Tomato And Basil Bruschetta Recipe

Bruschetta is one of the easiest and simplest ways of making an entree when it comes to Italian cuisine. 1 Loaf of Bread
2-3 Chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup of chopped basil leaves
2-3 garlic cloves chopped
1 Spoon balsamic vinegar
1 spoon extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Step One

For making this dish you need an old loaf of bread, which can be either multigrain, wholemeal or even regular white bread. So you just need to roughly slice up the breads as per your portion and put it in the oven to toast gently.

Step Two

Start off with chopping the tomatoes, herbs and other ingredients. Remember that you should not use the seeds of the tomatoes and can scrape them off during the process.

Step Three

Now, mix together all the liquid ingredients, which includes the olive oil and the vinegar. Add the seasoning at this stage and give it a good whisk. To this, you can now add the finely chopped garlic for additional flavour.

Step Four

In another bowl, mix your tomatoes and basil and season lightly. Just shake off the excess water that comes out when you add the salt because you don’t want your Bruschetta to be soggy. Mix this with the dressing and set aside.

Step Five

Now take out the bread from the oven. Remember that your bread should be older brown and crunchy but not burnt. Also using an OTG rather than toasted is suggested here because the bread stays crunchier for long. Now take a spoonful of the mixture of the tomatoes and spread it all over the bread. You can now decorate these on a tray and they are ready to go. For garnishing, you can add some olives on top if you want or even some chopped basil or other herbs of your choice.
