Homemade Extra Crispy Onion Rings

It is always a difficult choice to decide what to prepare when you have unexpected guests at home. We all love to prepare different recipe and treat our guests. However most of the time we are stuck with what to prepare in less time. one such recipe is crispy onion rings. This is a simple but delicious recipe and serves perfect for evening snacks along with tea or coffee.

With Very Few Ingredients You Can Prepare A Tasty Snack In Just Few Minutes:

Crispy Onion Rings

 

Preparation Time: 15-20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 3-4 Minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients Required:

2-3 onions
100 grams of all purpose flour
Red chilli powder
Cumin seeds
A pinch of turmeric
1 teaspoon of baking powder
Water as needed
Vegetable oil to fry

Procedure:

Step 1:

In a container, mix the ingredients such as flour, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, baking soda and turmeric.

Step 2:

Add water slowly to make a smooth batter of thick consistency. Keep it aside.

Step 3:

Now take the onions, peel the outer skin and cut into round shapes so that you can take out the onion rings from it.

Step 4:

Dip these onion rings in the batter and keep aside. In a frying pan, pour sufficient quantity of vegetable oil so that the rings will dip completely in oil.

Step 5:

Once the oil becomes hot, put the gas stove on medium flame and slowly take the dipped onion rings and add to the hot oil.

Step 6:

Cook it on medium flame for 3-4 minutes till the onion slices turn golden brown. In a plate place 2 tissue papers.

Step 7:

Now slowly take out the crispy onion rings and place it on the tissue paper so that the excess oil is soaked by the paper. Serve hot.

Garnish:

Garnishing is an important part of any recipe as it increases your appetite. Take a nice glass or fibre plate and keep the hot onion rings on the edges of the plate. In the centre keep small bowls of tomato sauce and coriander and mint chutney. On the sides of the plate, place raw onion rings to complete the garnishing. If you want to make your recipe look colourful then cut thin round slices of tomato and cucumber and place it on the plate at both the corners of the plate. It is a perfect snack for your guest.

Tip:

If you want your onion rings to be crunchier, then you can make use of eggs and milk. Add 1 egg and half cup of milk to the batter and dip the onion rings and deep fry them. Eggs can make the rings more crispy and crunchy.
