This awesome fish preparation is really very delicious which anybody can prepare in their kitchen. Although it is a delicious dish it is also very healthy as the fish is cooked in steaming process. Also not so much spices fish is used in this recipe. You can serve it easily in your lunch or dinner with plain rice.
Here salmon fillets are used as key ingredients which are marinated with all the spices like mustard paste, vinegar, white pepper powder etc. for half an hour which helps it in infusing the taste of the spices in the fish. Also it helps to make the fish soft. Then the fishes are steamed in water. As the fishes are steamed in to fresh banana leaves which is very common in Asian style cooking. So they also infused with a fresh aroma of banana leaves. Finally the poached salmon is garnished with roasted sesame seeds and onions soaked in vinegar. you can also use any other fishes in the place of salmon.
Ginger Poached Salmon In Asian Style:
Preparation Time: 40 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
Mustard Paste 30 gm
Sesame Seed Oil 20 ml
Vinegar 30 ml
Ginger Paste 15 gm
Salt to taste
White Pepper Powder 10 gm
Yellow and Green Bell Pepper 60 gm of each type
Ginger 40 gm (chopped)
Rosemary 2 bunch
Salmon Fillets 4 (each of will be 140 gm)
White Wine 30 ml
Lemon Juice 15 ml
Banana Leaf 4
Sesame Seed 30 gm (roasted)
Chopped Onion 30 gm (soaked in vinegar which is needed for garnishing)
First clean the salmon fillets in water and then strain excess water from the fillets with paper napkin. Pour white pepper powder, wine, lemon juice and salt to taste in the bowl. Mix them well.
Now in this step mix all the ingredients specified in serial no. 1 in that bowl. Then pour all the salmon fillets in it and mix them to marinate the fish for half an hour.
Now cut the banana leaves in rectangular shape and then clean them properly with water. Wipe the leaves with a cotton cloth to remove excess water from them. Slightly roast each banana leaf to fold them easily.
Take 4 pieces of banana leaves and spread them on your kitchen counter. First pour 3 types of sliced bell peppers on it. Then pour chopped gingers on it and then pour marinated fish on it.
Now clean rosemary with water and then finely chop it. Sprinkle this chopped rosemary on the fish fillets. Now fold the sides of the banana leaves to make a packet and finally wrap each packet with a cotton thread. In the same procedure make other packets. Be careful while folding the leaves.
Now take a deep pan and fill it with water. Gently pour these banana leaf packets in this pan and turn on the flame. Allow it to boil for 15 minutes. You can turn them to the other side carefully while boiling them in water. When it is done turn off the gas and take the packets out from water.
Then unwraps each banana leaf packet. Now take a serving dish and spread some iceberg lettuce leaves on it. Now pour the cooked salmon on it carefully.
Now sprinkle roasted sesame seeds on the top of the fish to garnish it. Also sprinkle the onions soaked in vinegar from top. Here your Ginger Poached Salmon in Asian Style is now ready to serve.
