This dish is quite easy to prepare and only needs simple ingredients of your kitchen. This fish is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids which is important for heart health and also a fantastic mood booster also.
Spicy Hilsa Cooked In Lemon Dill Sauce:
Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25 Minutes
Hilsa Fillets 140 gm
Dill Leaves 15 gm
Seed less green chili 10 gm (chopped)
Olive Oil 35 gm
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
Fresh Cream a little
White Wine 20 ml
Lemon Juice ½ tsp
All Purpose Flour 1 tbsp
Exotic Vegetables (for garnishing, used boiled or sautéed veggies for this purpose)
Water as required
Clean the Hilsa Fillets properly with water and remove excess water from the fish carefully. Now marinate hilsa fillets with salt and black pepper powder.
Now pour a little olive oil in a non stick fry pan and allow it to boil in low flame. Now pour the marinated fish fillets in the pan and then pan fry all your fillets.
When the fish turns soft take it out from the pan and put it on a dish. Now remove the bones from the fish fillets with the help of a kitchen knife. Now place this deboned fish in another dish. Now pour all purpose flour in remaining oil and sauté it for few minutes.
Then add required amount of water or fish stock (optional) in this pan. Stir it continuously so that no lump can be formed. Stir it well and then add white wine in it.
Allow it to boil in low flame and when it starts to boil add chopped green chili in it. Also add chopped dill leaves in it and stir it continuously to mix all the ingredients.
Add salt and sugar to taste. Also add fresh cream and freshly squeezed lemon juice in the pan. Mix it well and cook it until the whole mixture gets thick. When it is done, turn off the flame and pour it on the fried fish fillets.
Pour sautéed exotic vegetables on the other side of the plate and serve your Spicy Hilsa cooked in Lemon Dill Sauce with plain rice.
