How To Make Lamb Feta Peppers At Home

Here Is The Recipe For Lamb Feta Peppers:

Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 1 Hour
Serves: 6

Ingredients:

Chopped Onion (medium) – 1
Minced garlic – 1 clove
Green bell pepper – 6
Chopped fresh dill – 2 tbsp
Salt – 3/4 tsp
Ground all spice – 1/2 tsp
Ground black pepper – 1/2 tsp
Cooked rice – 1 cup
Ground lamb – 1 cup
Feta cheese  – 1 cup (crumbled)
Tomato sauce – 1 cup
Cold water – 1 cup
Fresh lemon juice – 1 tbsp
White sugar – 1 tsp

Method Of Preparation:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.

Step 2

Now heat the oil in a skillet. Keep the heat on medium and add the chopped onions and cook for about four minutes till the onion gets soft. You do not want to burn it. Stir in the garlic and cook it for one minute.

Step 3

Slice the top layer of the pepper and remove the seeds. Let the cut pepper stand upright in a baking dish. You have to bake them in that position. Now is the time to make the yummy filling.

Step 4

Now in a  bowl, combine the dill, onion mix, all spice, salt and pepper. Mix the rice in and the lamb too. Now add the crumbled feta cheese. Stuff the peppers with the mixture.

Step 5

After the stuffing, make a sauce using tomato sauce, water, sugar and lemon juice. Pour half of it on the stuffed peppers and half you need to pour at the bottom of the baking dish. Cover the baking dish with foil. Now it is baking time.

Step 6

Bake this in the oven for 40 minutes. Uncover the baking dish and then again bake it for 20 minutes. Baste it with the sauce in the baking dish. Take a meat thermometer and insert in the center and see if it reads 70 degrees C or 160 degrees F.

Step 7

The stuffed pepper is ready to serve. Serve it hot!
