Do you know that Soy is a high protein food for you? Actually it is. Soy is good for our skin, hair and health. It has high protein content and it is good than meat or fish or milk. So, those who are vegetarian they can easily consume soy to complete the requirement of protein in their body. You can incorporate soy chunks or soy flour or soy milk in your daily diet to take the protein input in your body. Soy Nugget Curry is a very delicious dish which is ideal for the vegetarians. But those who prefer non vegetarian items they can also consume it. The recipe is itself a very easy dish to prepare and needs only fewer ingredients that are available in your kitchen. This dish is actually goes well in dinner; but you can try it also in your lunch. So, why are you waiting for? Try it in this weekend and enjoy it with your family.
Delicious Soya Nugget Curry:
Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Cooking Time: 20 Minutes
Soya Chunks 100 gm
Onion 3 (large sized)
Garlic Cloves 4-5
Roasted Cumin Powder ½ tea spoon
Sour Curd 4 tea spoon
Turmeric Powder ¼ tea spoon
Salt to taste
Refined Oil as required
Dried Red Chili paste 1 tea spoon
Coriander powder 1 tea spoon
All purpose flour 4 tea spoon
Arrowroot 1 tea spoon
Boiled Potato 1 cup
First take a deep pan and pour 2 cups of water in it. Add a pinch of salt in it and start to boil it. Add Soya chunks in this water and cook it until the Soya chunks turns soft.
When it is done turn off the gas. First strain the boiled water and separate the cooked soy chunks in another bowl. Wash them with lots of water for 3-4 times and squeeze the excess water from the Soya chunks. Now take another bowl and pour the boiled potato in it.
Mash them with your hand to make a pulp out of it. Add coriander powder, little garlic paste, a little dried red chili paste and salt to taste in it. Add all purpose flour and arrowroot in it; knead it to prepare a mixture. These two ingredients bind this mixture very well. Mix all these ingredients to prepare smooth dough.
Now prepare nuggets from the dough. Take a non stick pan and put it on the gas. Pour oil in it and put it on the medium flame. Now fry the soy nuggets in low flame till they turn golden brown. Place the fried nuggets on tissue papers so that the excess oil gets absorbed by the paper.
Now chop 2 onions finely; fry the chopped onions in oil and set them aside in a bowl. Cut the other onion in cube shape. Grind it in your grinder to prepare a fine paste.
Now pour little oil in non stick pan and add onion paste in it. Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, dried red chili paste and sour curd in it. Also add salt to taste. Stir it to dry the spices; add a little water. When the oil gets separated from the spices add the Soya nuggets.
Cook it for 7-8 minutes; then sprinkle the fried onions that you have separated in a bowl. Mix and then turn off the gas. Serve your Soy nugget Curry hot with plain rice.
