Squid with Assorted Pepper is a fish preparation from authentic Chinese cuisine. This dish is very easy and thus can be done quickly in any time. So you can try it in your working days also. The ingredients needed for this recipe is easily available in your kitchen. If you do not have fresh Squid fish you can use a canned one for this purpose.
Squid With Assorted Pepper:
Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
Squid 500 gm (cut it in round shapes)
Red Bell Pepper 2
Yellow Bell Pepper 2
Olive oil 1 tbsp
Ulster Sauce 1 tbsp
Olive Oil 6 tbsp
Dried Red Chili 6
Garlic Cloves 6
Corn flour 1 tsp
First remove the seeds from the bell peppers and then cut them in thin round slices. Then clean the fish properly with water. Again clean it with boiling water and strain excess water from the fish.
Now chop the garlic finely. Pour 6 tbsp of olive oil in a pan and allow it to boil. Add chopped garlic and dried red chili in this oil. Cook it for 4-5 minutes so that it can fry well.
Then turn off the flame and allow it to cool. Then strain the oil in a separate bowl. Take 2 tbsp of water in a bowl and mix corn flour in it. Mix it well.
Now pour oil in a non stick pan and allow it to boil in low flame. Now fry the fish slices in this oil lightly. When it is done take them out from the pan and pour chili oil in the pan. Pour chopped bell pepper in it and cook it for 4-5 minutes.
Then pour all other ingredients in the pan and mix well. Add salt to taste. Also pour corn flour mixture in the pan and stir it well to mix. Allow it to boil so that the gravy gets thick.
Cook it for 5-6 minutes and then stir it continuously. Then pour fried squid slices in it and again cook it for 2-3 minutes. Then turn off the flame and pour it in a serving plate. Serve your Squid with Assorted Pepper hot with plain rice.
