Today I will be sharing the recipes of Texan Spicy rice with Barbecued Fish. Both the dishes are American Cuisine. The Texan Spicy Rice is a very popular dish in Texas. They use local rice to make this recipe. However, I will be using here brown rice to give it an extra nutrition value. We all know that brown rice is full with protein and amino acid. Both of these have very important part in our daily life. The other recipe is Barbecued Fish. Here you can use any boneless fish. I use salmon fish due to its taste. Also, salmon fish has very high nutrition value. It has lot of vitamins which is very helpful to make our body healthy. So friends, by now you must have understood that both of my recipes are very healthy. Let’s start of making them.

Let’s start of making Texan Spicy Rice.
1. Texan Spicy Rice:
This is a very delicious rice item. Here I am using American brown rice. However, it is completely up to you which kind of rice you will be choosing. If you live in America, you can easily get Texas local rice. Use that rice to make this dish authenticate. However, using of any variant of rice will not effect the taste.
Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Let’s check what we would require to make this dish:
1 and 1/2 cup of american brown rice
3 cups of water
1/2 cup freshly chopped apple
1/2 cup slightly fried chopped almond
1 tsp of honey
4 tsp of unsalted butter
1 cup of chopped onion
1 tsp of chopped celery
1 cup of diced bell pepper ( I have use green, yellow and red bell pepper)
4 tsp of chopped green chili ( If you don’t want to make it spicy, simply remove this ingredient)
1/2 tsp of black pepper powder
salt as per taste
Method Of Preparation:
We would be following some simple steps to make this delicious item.
Heat butter in a frying pan. Here is a small tips- if you want to make this dish more healthy without affecting the taste, use olive oil for cooking. Just before serving, add half a teaspoon of melted butter on the top. The taste will remain same yet healthy.
Add chopped onion, chopped celery, diced bell peppers and chopped green chili in to the frying pan. Saute for about two minute on low flame.
Soak the rice in to salted warm water for about 10 minutes. Strain out the water. Add the soaked rice in to the frying pan where we are frying bell peppers and other ingredients. Mix the rice with all other ingredients. Fry on high flame. Stir continuously unless the onion becomes transparent.
Now add honey, salt and water into it. Mix them properly. Cover it with a lid. After 20 minutes, add chopped apple and fried almond in to it. Mix them properly on low flame. Cover again with the lid.
After 5 minutes, take out the lid. Switch off the flame. Top with a cube of butter. Our Texan Spicy Rice is ready.
We are done with our Texan Spicy Rice. Now we will be learning how to make Barbecued Fish. You can also replace the fish with chicken. The Texan Spicy rice can be eaten with any other gravy item. But it will go better with Barbecued fish.
2. Barbecued Fish
This is another very delicious dish. Let’s check the recipe:
Preparation Time: 1 Hour
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
Let’s Check What We Need To Make This Recipe:
6 medium sized salmon fish fillets ( As I mentioned before, you can take any boneless fish)
2 tsp of lemon juice
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp tomato sauce
2 tsp butter
salt as per taste
Method of Preparation:
Let’s follow the steps to make this:
Marinate all the fish fillet with lemon juice, salt, chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, fish sauce and tomato sauce for 1 hour.
Now put 3 fillets in one skewer. Brush butter over it. Make another skewer ready in the same way.
Now grill the skewers for 8-10 minutes. When the fish color will become golden, take it out. Our Barbecued Fish is ready. Serve hot with Mexican Spicy Rice.
