Recipe For The Delicious Curried Cottage Pie Recipe At Home

This is the delicious and healthy dish. It has so many of the flavours and easy to cook. In this we first cook the vegetables and in it we add the beef minced, then we cook the minced with the spices. We take the potatoes and parsnips and mashed it. Curried Cottage Pie

Preparation Time- 15 Minutes
Cooking Time- 60 Minutes
Serves- 4


Curry powder- 1 tablespoon
Beef Stock- 300 ml
Worcestershire sauce- 1 tablespoon
Parsnips- 3 chopped
Milk- 100 ml
Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon
Onion- 1
Garlic- 2 cloves
Celery- 1 stick
Bay leaves- 2
Olive oil- 1 shot
Fresh thyme- 1 bunch
Beef mince- 500 gm
Flour- 1 tablespoon
Tomato puree- 1 tin
Salt- as per taste
Pepper- 1 teaspoon

Methods Of Preparation:

Step 1

First take the onions, cut it in the middle, peel it and slice it in the small pieces, do the same for the celery and the garlic. Now take the bowl, add the vegetables in it, add 1 shot of the olive oil in it, put this on the low flame and stir it and fry it.

Step 2

Now take the carrots, peel it and cut it in the small slices, now cut it into the small pieces, add this to the bowl as well, mix it and fry it along with the chopped thyme and parsley.

Step 3

Now take the beef mince add this to the bowl, stir it so that it will change the color. Now take the 1 tablespoon of the curry powder, 1 tablespoon of the flour and add this to the bowl, now mix the whole thing.

Step 4

Now add the water and milk to it, as the water starts boiling, add the tomato puree in it, add the  worcestershire sauce to it, as it starts bubbling cover it with the lid and leave for 1 hour.

Step 5

Now take the bowl, add the salt to it and put it on the medium flame, now take the potatoes, peel it and chopped it. Take the parsnips, peel it cut it from the middle, take out the chunky part of the middle and cut it in the pieces. Now all the potatoes and parsnips will go in the boiling water for about the 20 minutes.

Step 6

Now take the fry pan, put it on the high flame, as the pan is hot, add the cumin seeds to it, then remove it quickly so that they will not get burn. Now as the potatoes and the parsnips are cooked, then drain out the water and make them completely dry.

Step 7

Now take the potatoes and the parsnips in the bowl and mesh it, add the tossed cumin seeds to it. Now season it with the salt and pepper, add little bit of the melted butter to it. Mix all the things nicely.

Step 8

Now as the beef mince curry is thick and cooked stir it so fast. Now in the serving bowl, make a layer of the beef mince curry. Now carefully place the mashed potatoes and the parsnips on it, now give a little sprinkle of the olive oil.

Step 9

Now this will go inside the oven at 180 degree celcius for about the 15 minutes. Now take it out, sprinkle fresh chopped coriander leaves on it. The dish is ready to eat.
