Recipe For The Delicious Dakgangjeong (Sweet And Crispy Fried Chicken)

This is the dish of the chicken wings. In this we marinate the chicken starch in the potato starch along with so many of the spice. Then there is the delicious sauce that is prepare with the so many of the ingredients. It has the goodness of the almonds also. This is the korean way of cooking the chicken.

Preparation Time- 20 Minutes
Cooking Time- 25 Minutes
Serves- 4


Chicken wings- 3 pounds
Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
Ground black pepper- 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger- 1 teaspoon
Potato starch- 2/3 cups
Peanuts- 1/3 cups
Garlic- 4 cloves
Soy sauce- 1/4 cup
Rice syrup- 1/2 cup
White vinegar- 1 tablespoon
Mustard sauce- 1 tablespoon
Brown sugar-1 tablespoon
Sesame seeds- 1 tablespoon
Grape seed oil- 4 tablespoon

Method Of Preparation:

Step 1

First, take around 3 pound of chicken cut off the tip of each wing and cut the wings into two piece so that we get approx 26 piece from each wings. Wash the chicken couple of times in cold running water and put it in a bowl, meanwhile add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, ground black pepper around 1 teaspoon, minced ginger 1 tablespoon amount mix it well by using hand and cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour to marinate.

Step 2

Take 1/3 cup of potato starch in separate shallow bowl, coat each chicken one by one with potato starch squeeze each wing by hand to press the coating to it tightly. Take a large sauce pan put it into medium heat pour 4 tablespoons of grapeseed oil into it as the pan is hot put the chicken wing into oil one by one, cook it for 6 minutes in one side then flip it over and cook another 6 minutes in other side until the chicken become crunchy.

Step 3

Now turn off the heat and remove chicken from pan with a spoon and drain on paper towel and let the wings sit for a few minutes. Further reheat the same pan as the oil is hot at low heat, put chicken in oil double fry for another 12 to 13 minutes until it goes to golden brown and feel super crunchy, take out the chicken from pan.

Step 4

Let’s prepare the sweet, spicy, and sticky sauce for this heat the pan over medium heat pour 2 tablespoon of cooking oil add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and 4 chopped dried red pepper stir this for 30 seconds then add quarter cup soy sauce, half cup rice syrup, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 tablespoon mustard sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and continue stirring.

Step 5

After 1 minutes add hot chicken and roasted nuts into the sauce mix it well, turn off the heat and transfer the coated chicken in serving plate garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy.
