Recipe For The Delicious Old Bay Calamari At Home

In this we clean the squid and then cut it into rings, now we mix it with the cherry pickled and coat it with the all purpose flour, we dip it in the egg mixture and deep fry it in the garlic clove infused oil, then we make the spicy sauce of the cherry tomatoes, green chili and sour cream, we served all the things.

Delicious Old Bay Calamari

Preparation Time- 10 Minutes

Serves- 3


Calamari- 300 gm
Cherry peppers- 1
All purpose flour- 100 gm
Vegetable oil- 1 liter
Garlic cloves- 2
Egg- 3
Red paprika- 1 teaspoon
Old bay seasoning- 1 tablespoon
Salt- as per taste
Cherry tomatoes- 3
Sour cream- 1 tablespoon
Green chili- 1
Pepper- 1 teaspoon

Methods Of Preparation:

Step 1

First you need to take the squid, with the help of the knife or from the fingers, cut it the tail of it, clean it in the running water, now press the stomach hard so that all the stomach will come out from it, clean it again with the running water, if there is any stomach remained in it, take it out also.

Step 2

Give a cut mark to the skin of it, now with the help of the fingers take out the skin of it, now you will have the white portions, cut it into rings and place this in between the wet cloth or the tissue papers.

Step 3

Now take the cherry peppers, cut it into slices, add this to the mixture of the pickle or you can take the pickled cherry peppers, place this also in the wet cloth, now take the all purpose flour to the bowl, season it with the salt and pepper, add little bit of the butter, mix it and leave it for about the 30 minutes.

Step 4

After 30 minutes, add the bay seasoning to it, mix it nicely, add the calamari and cherry slices in it, now tap it so that there will be thin layer of the flour on the calamari, now take the sieve and remove the extra flour from it.

Step 5

In a bowl, crack 2 eggs, now with the help of the egg separator, take out the egg yolk from it, now add 1 teaspoon of the smoked paprika in it, now whisk it nicely, add little bit of the salt to it, we dip the mixture in it.

Step 6

Take the deep bowl, add the oil to it, put it on the medium flame, take 2 cloves of the garlic to it, now fry it till it get the dark brown color, remove the garlic from it, make it hot, now place mixture one by one and deep fry it from both the sides, take it out from the pan and place it on the tissue paper, soak the extra oil from it, do the process for all the mixture.

Step 7

Take the cherry tomatoes, place this to the jar, add little bit of the salt to it, add green chili to it, add 1 teaspoon of the sour cream to it, now blend it to make the smooth paste of it, take the serving plate, place the fried calamari to it, in the serving bowl, add the tomato sauce to it, garnish it with the chopped parsley and served it. The dish is ready to eat.
