Recipe For The Delicious Rhubarb Crisp At Home

This is delicious sweet dish in which you have the goodness of the rhubarb with the crispy texture, in this we first clean the rhubarb, then we add the sugar to it, we also caramelized the brown sugar and mix it with rhubarb, then we toasted the breadcrumbs and oats, we mix the butter with the flour, we add the breadcrumbs and oats to it, then we make the layer of the rhubarb and oats mixture, we egg wash it and then bake it, served it.

Rhubarb Crisp

Preparation Time- 10 Minutes
Cooking Time- 40 Minutes
Serves- 3


Rhubarb- 300 gm
All purpose flour- 3 tablespoon
Granulated sugar- 40 gm
Oats- 40 gm
Baking powder- 1 teaspoon
Brown sugar- 40 gm
Milk- 20 ml
Egg- 2
Salt- 1 teaspoon
Cherry- 3 chopped
Icing sugar- 2 tablespoon
Butter- 50 gm

Methods Of Preparation:

Step 1

First you need to take the rhubarb, clean it in a running water, now take the peeler, peel the outer skin of it, now slice it nicely, take the sieve, add the rhubarb to it, now add little bit of the salt to it, now place this on the top of the bowl, add some of the weight to the top of the rhubarb, leave it for sometime, so that the bitterness of the rhubarb will be removed.

Step 2

Now take it out in the pan, add the sugar to it, mix it nicely, take the skillet, put it on the low heat, as the pan is hot, add water to it, now add the brown sugar to it, stir it regularly, so that there will be nice caramelized mixture, add this mixture to the rhubarb and get the thick paste of it.

Now take the oats in the grinding jar, grind the oats in the grinder, now take the bread slices, cut it into pieces, now place this in the grinding jar and get the bread crumbs of it, now mix the breadcrumbs to the oats.

Step 4

Take the pan, put it on the low heat, add little bit of the oil to it, as the oil is hot, add the breadcrumbs and oats to it, now stir it so that it will get roasted, take it out to the other bowl and allow it to cool.

Step 5

Now take the flour, add the cubes of the unsalted butter, now mix it with the hands so that all the butter will be mixed, now add the breadcrumbs and the oats mixture to it, mix it completely.

Step 6

Now take the pan, grease the wall of the it with the butter, now add the rhubarb top it, now at the top of it, add the all purpose flour to it, make an even layer on the top, now take the bowl, crack 2 eggs in it, add little bit of the salt and milk to it, now mix it well so that there will be foam in it, now apply this on the top of flour, make an even layer, now place this inside the oven at 180 degree Celsius for about the 30 minutes.

Step 7

Take it out, cut the slices of it, now take it out in the serving plate, at the top of it, add 1 dollop of fresh cream, place 1 pieces of the cherry, dust it with the icing sugar, served it. The dish is ready to eat.
