Recipe To The Mouth Watering Green Chile Stew At Home

It is easy to cook dish, we first clean the pork shoulder, cut it into big chunks, then we fry it in the oil, then we fry the onions and garlic, we add the pork meat, we cook the pork in the chicken broth, we add the potatoes, tomatoes, cilantro in it, to get the thick consistency, we add the corn starch in it, we make the paste of the carrots, garlic cloves, jalapeno and chili, we add this to the pork meat and cook it with the spices, then we served it.

Mouth Watering Green Chile Stew

Preparation Time- 30 Minutes

Serves- 3


Pork- 2 pounds
Vegetable oil- 4 tablespoon
Water- 1 cup
Potato- 2
Onion- 3
Garlic cloves- 8
Bell pepper- 1/2 cups
Carrot- 2
Cilantro leaves- 1/2 cup
Salt- 1 teaspoon
Black pepper- 1/2 teaspoon
Tomato- 1/2 cup
Chicken broth- 3 cups
Diced green chili- 18 ounces
Corn starch- 2 tablespoon
Habanero pepper- 2
coriander powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Mirin- 1 tablespoon
White wine- 2 teaspoon

Method Of Preparations:

Step 1

Take 2 pound of boneless pork shoulder, wash it properly in cold running water 3 to 4 times, so that all blood and dirt will get removed. Trim its fat with sharp knife, then cut it into 1 inch pieces. Now take a pan put it on medium heat, pour 3 tablespoon of vegetable oil into it, as the oil in a pan is so hot, drop all the meat into it, fry it until both side of pork meat look light golden brown in color.

Step 2

Mean while lets prepare ingredient for stew for this take 2 medium sizes onion, peel its skin then chopped it into slices. Take 2 potato cut it into cubes, 6 garlic cloves grate them nicely, cut 2 tomato into small pieces. Now put another pot on heat, drop 1 table spoon oil into it, add sliced onion, stir it for 10 seconds until onion will tender, then add 1/2 cup bell pepper and crushed garlic, stir it about 8 minutes.

Step 3

Further add crispy pork meat along with chicken broth into the same pan, mix all ingredient well and bring it to boil for 5 minutes. Now add 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoon of black pepper, cover the pan with lid and cook it for 15 minutes over the low heat, so that pork become tender.

Step 4

Now open the lid of pan, add 1/2 cup potato, diced tomato along with 1/2 cups of cilantro chopped leaves into the pan and cook it again another for 10 minutes, until the potato become tender and the consistency of stew look slightly thick. Take 2 cups of luke warm water in a bowl and whisk the 3 tablespoon of corn starch into it, mix it well until smooth then pour it in a same pan, so that consistency of stew will slightly thick.

Step 5

In blending jar, add 1 carrot, 2 garlic cloves, 4 roasted jalapeno, 1 habanero pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of oregano and 18 ounces of diced green chili into it, then blend them to make smooth paste. Drop all this smooth paste into the stew and continue cooking in low heat for another  10 minutes, until all the liquid present in pan thicken.

Step 6

Finally add 2 tablespoon of coriander powder, add 1 tablespoon of white wine, 1/2 teaspoon mirin, 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper and 1 tablespoon of green chili, give them nice stir and shimmer the stew for 2 minutes in very low heat. Now transfer this delicious green chili stew in serving plate, garnish it with remaining cilantro leaves and enjoy it with tortillas.
