Direction To Prepare Singapore’s Chilli Crab Recipe:
Remove the shells of the crabs and chop each of them into the size of ¼ pieces. Also, crack the crab’s claws to let the flavors penetrate. Keep aside once done.
In a food processer, put onion with chilli and blend to a puree for 1-2 minutes.
Take a wok and heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the puree (onion and chilli puree, prepared in the step above) and shrimp paste. Stir fry for the subsequent 6-7 minutes. Fry till the extra liquid disappears and the mixture starts changing color. Once you achieve such result, it is time to add sugar, tomato sauce, tomato puree, soy sauce, tomato paste, salt and vinegar. After adding the given ingredients, stir till the ingredients the mixed properly. Once done, add corn flour and water. Mix and heat to bring the mixture to boil.
Now comes the major part i.e. adding crab. Add crab pieces and mix until well-covered in the ingredients and the gravy formed. Cook for another 8-10 minutes with stirring and turning after every 3 minutes. Once the crab shells turn red properly, it means that the crab is cooked properly. Break the egg on top of the crab and toss lightly to coat the crab. This completes your recipe. Sere in a plate with coriander leaves.
