Tasty Healthy Chicken Poached- Egg Curry

Poached egg curry is a very tasty food which you can make in a hurry. It is not at all a classical food but, you may call it as fusion food. It is actually a simple egg curry with a little twist. We all know that egg is beneficial for our health. It benefits us in various ways. 1 egg is equivalent to 1 whole chicken. The egg is a high quality protein but unlike other sources of protein it is inexpensive. Among egg, there are two parts – white and yellow. Maximum protein of an egg is found in the white portion of the egg. This white portion is rich sources of selenium, vitamin D, B6, B12 and minerals such as zinc, iron and copper.

For this reason egg can be classified as super food. Egg yolk is actually fat portion. People with high cholesterol can easily eliminate the yolk portion from the poached egg. Eggs are good for your eyes and lower the risk of cataract. For this reason consumption of at least one egg is essential for every person irrespective of their age. As egg should be our daily food it should be cooked in different manners otherwise you will get bored with it. Here is the recipe of one simple egg poach curry that may help you and your family.

Chicken Poached-Egg Curry

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves – 6

Ingredients:

6 chicken eggs, 1 teaspoon black cumin seed, 1 tablespoon cumin powder, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1teaspoon red Kashmiri chili powder, 4 green chilies, fresh coriander leaves, salt and mustard oil or any vegetable oil.

Preparation:

Soak cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and chili powder in a small amount of water for 10-12 minutes. Slit green chilies and eliminate the seeds. Chop fresh coriander leaves very finely.

Method:

Step 1:

Sprinkle little amount of mustard oil on a non stick pan and fry a poach. Fry both sides. Be sure to sprinkle some salt while frying. Repeat the process and carefully fry six poaches. Keep them aside. In a deep bottom pan add 1 tablespoon oil and heat it. Add the cumin seeds. Let them pop.

Step 2:

Add the spices and pour some water on it. Add salt to it. Let them boil. When the gravy is boiling add all those poaches and cook them till you get the required consistency. Then remove it from oven and garnish it with green chili and chopped coriander leaves. Serve it hot with steamed rice.
