Earlier, pepper out of need was sold unripe and then evolved various recipes in which it was experimented in various ways. The stuffed pepper recipe is delicious the result of one such experiment. In this recipe, you will find pepper stuffed with the rice and Italian sausage which does nothing but make it even delicious. The recipe can be divided into 3 forms – preparing the rice, stuffing the pepper and baking it. Ingredients Needed To Prepare The Recipe:
Uncooked long grain white rice – 1 cup
Water – 2 cups
Ingredients Needed For Preparing The Sauce
Diced onion – 1
Beef broth – 1 cup
Olive oil – 1 teaspoon
Marinara sauce – 2 cups
Balsamic vinegar – 1 teaspoon
Crushed red pepper flakes 0 ¼ teaspoon
Ingredients Needed For Peppers
Lean ground beef – 1 pound
Diced tomatoes – 1 can or 10 ounce
Fresh Italian parsley, chopped – ¼ cups
Casing removed hot Italian pork sausage – ¼ pound
•Minced garlic cloves – 4
Black pepper, freshly grounded – 1 teaspoon
Ground cayenne pepper – 1 pinch
Halved lengthwise and seeded large green bell peppers -4 large
Finely grated parmigiano reggiano cheese – 1 cup and more for the topping
Direction To Prepare The Recipe:
Set the oven at 375 degree Fahrenheit or 190 degree Celsius
Take a saucepan and place on high heat. Add water and the long grain rice and cook till it starts boiling. Reduce the setting from high to medium or low. Cover the saucepan and allow to simmer till you find the rice has turned tender and all the liquid has disappeared. For such result, you might need to continue placing on heat for 20 to 25 minutes approximately. Once the rice is cooked, place aside.
Place another saucepan on high heat and add olive oil to it. Once it has turned hot, add onion. Stir fry the onions till it becomes soft. This might take some 5 minutes. Divide the onion into two parts and put one part in a bowl and place the bowl aside.
No add the beef broth, balsamic vinegar, marinara sauce, and the red pepper into the saucepan and cook while stirring continuously for one minute.
Pour this cooked mixture into a baking dish and place aside.
Take a large bowl and add ground beef, Italian parsley, garlic, salt, black pepper, reserved onions, cayenne pepper and diced tomatoes to it. Mix all these ingredients well and pour into the cooked rice. Add Parmigiano reggiano after. Stir the ingredients carefully.
Stuff the green bell peppers with the sausage and the beef mixture prepared above.
Take a baking dish containing tomato sauce and place the stuffed green bell pepper on it. Sprinkle the leftover Parmigiano reggiano to it and then cover the dish with the help of an aluminum foil. Shift into the preheated oven and keep placing there for 45 minutes.
Once the time is up, remove the baking dish from the oven followed by the aluminum foil. Make sure that the meat is no longer pink in color. The green peppers should be turned tender in texture and the cheese placed on top should be brown. Once again, shift into the oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
