Plum And Almond Crumble Slice

Ingredients:

Cold Butter – 250 gram pack
Castor sugar – 225 gram
Plain flour – 140 gram + 25 gram
Egg – 2
Ground almond -300 gram
Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon
Flaked almond – 50 gram
Plums – 6 (stoned an cut into sixth pieces)

Direction On How To Prepare The Recipe:

Step 1

Set the oven at 180 degree Celsius. Take a 20*30 cm baking tin and add butter to it. Line the tin with a baking paper after.

Step 2

Into a food processor, add sugar, butter and ground almonds. Pulse these until the mixture formed looks like rough breadcrumbs. Extract half the part of the mixture into a bowl and place aside.

Step 3

Into the food processor with the remaining mixture, add 140 grams of flour and whizz it until a dough is formed. Shift the mixture into a tin and press it with the help of a spoon. Bake the mixture for about 15-20 minutes or until it turns golden in color. Remove from the oven and leave aside for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Now comes the filling part. To form the filling, add the remaining butter, almond mix and sugar back to the processor. Do save a few teaspoon of it to use later as topping. Next add 25 gram of flour, baking powder, soft butter and cinnamon to the mixture and whizz for some time. Spread the mixture on the base.

Step 5

Top these with the plum pieces and some extra castor sugar with cinnamon. Bake the mixture for about 20 minutes and then sprinkle the leftover crumble mix and flaked almonds. Cook the dish for 20 minutes more or until it turns golden in color. Place aside in the tin to allow it to cool down. Finally slice it and serve to whosoever you want to.
