Shrimp With Pumpkin:

Shrimp With Pumpkin

Preparation Time: 40 minutes

Shrimp 500 grams
pumpkin – 250 grams
onion 1
ginger – ¼ inch
garlic – 2 cloves
red chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
turmeric- 1 teaspoon
coriander leaves
cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon
bay leaves-1
dry red chili- 1
4 green chilies
vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons


Peel and dice the pumpkin. De-shell and devein those shrimps. Wash them and rub salt over them. Grind onion, ginger and garlic to paste. Chop fresh coriander leaves and slit green chilies.


Step 1:

In a pan add 1 tablespoon oil and slightly fry shrimps in the oil. Remove them from pan and keep them aside. Add tablespoon oil in the pan. Add bay leaves, dry red chili and cumin seeds in it. Let them pop. Then add the ground spices in the hot oil. Stir continuously to fry them well. Add dices pumpkin in the spice. Add salt to taste. Stir for minute or two.

Step 2:

Keep the lid on for 10-15 minutes and keep the pan on a low flame. It will help pumpkin to melt down. Remove the lid and add fried shrimp in it. Cook it for another 5 minutes and remove them from oven. Add chopped coriander and green chili on the preparation and serve them hot with fresh bread.

12 Shrimps of medium size
lemon, salt
2 eggs
black pepper
Worchester sauce
canola oil


De-shell and devein the shrimp. Wash them properly. Add some lemon juice and salt on the shrimp. Rub them properly and marinate it for 30 minutes. In a container break 2 eggs. Add required amount of salt and whisk them. Add corn flour and 1 tablespoon Worchester sauce in the egg. With the help of a fork stir it continuously to mix everything. Be assured that there is no lump. Your batter is ready.


Heat adequate amount of canola oil in a deep bottom. Soak shrimps in the batter and deep fry them in the oil. Keep frying till they turn golden brown. Remove them from oil. Sprinkle some black pepper over them and serve them hot with fresh salads.
