Top 3 Easy Preparations Of Potatoes

Potato is one of the most common and popular vegetables of this earth. As potato has no such strong taste of its own, you can make various preparations with this nutritious vegetable. Potato is a rich source of carbohydrate and it can give you instant energy when you eat it. Apart from that it is a great source of minerals and vitamins. This article will give you three easy recipes of potato.

1. Potato In Tomato Garlic Gravy:

Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
Serves: 6

Ingredients:

6 large potatoes
2 ripe red tomatoes
10 cloves of garlic
½ inch ginger
1 teaspoon cumin seed
6 green chilies
fresh coriander leaves – 1 bunch
salt
vegetable oil

Methods Of Preparation:

Step 1

Wash potatoes properly and boil them with jacket till they get moderately soft. After that, drain the water, remove the jacket and cut potatoes in equal pieces. Sprinkle and rub salt on them and keep them aside.

Step 2

Add tomatoes, ginger and garlic cloves in a grinder and grind them to paste.

Step-3

Slit green chilies and remove the seeds. Chop fresh coriander leaves and keep them aside.

Step-4

In a pan add 2 tablespoons oil and heat it. Add potato and fry them slightly. Remove them from pan. Add further 2 tablespoons oil in the pan. When the oil is hot enough add cumin seeds in the hot oil. When the cumin seeds are popped in add the spice paste. Keep stirring to fry them properly. Add potatoes in the spices and pour some water in the preparation. Cook them on a moderate flame for at least 5-6 minutes so that the potatoes absorb the spices. When the gravy gets thick remove them from the oven.

Step-5

Marinate the preparation with chopped coriander leaves and green chili and serve it hot with fresh bread.

2. French Fry Of Potato:

Preparation Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
Serves: 6

Ingredients:

8-10 large potatoes
freshly ground black pepper
salt
canola oil
butter oil

Methods of Preparation:

Step-1

Boil potato with the jacket till they become 70 percent soft. After that, remove them from water. Remove the jacket and cut them in English alphabet ‘D’ shape. Sprinkle some salt over them. Keep them aside.

Step-2

Heat ample amount of canola oil and butter oil in a 2:1 ratio in a deep bottom pan. When the oil is heat enough add the potato pieces in the oil. Deep fry them till golden brown. Remove them from oil and place them on paper napkins to eliminate the excess oil.

Step-3

Place fried potato on a plate. Sprinkle some black pepper powder on them. Serve them hot at breakfast.

3. Chili Potato In Chinese Style:

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

500 grams small potatoes
1 onion
1 small piece of ginger
7-8 cloves of garlic
2-3 tablespoons soy sauce
5-6 green chilies
1 bell pepper
2-3 tablespoons vegetables oil
black pepper powder
salt

Methods Of Preparation:

Step-1

Peel potatoes and wash them properly. Prick potatoes with a fork and boil them for 10-15 minutes in water. Be sure to add salt in the water. Remove them from water after boiling it for the required times. And keep them aside.

Step-2

Grind onion, ginger and garlic to paste. Chop green chili and dice the bell pepper.

Step-3

Heat oil. Add the spice paste and fry them properly. Add the potatoes and stir for a minutes so that the potatoes get mixed with the spices. Add little amount of water and cook potato in the water till the potatoes get soft. Now add soy sauce on the preparation. Cook it further one minute. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon black pepper, add chopped green chili and bell pepper on the preparation. Mix well and remove it from heat. Serve it hot with steamed rice.
