Cauliflower is a most tasty vegetable which is found in almost every season around the globe. Every body loves to eat this wonderful veggie by making soups and curry. Here is an amazing snacks dish made with cauliflower and quinoa. Cauliflower contains a lot of vital nutrients in it and thus good for our health. This is a lip smacking dish that you can try in your kitchen. It needs only a few ingredients and has a very easy procedure for cooking.
Cauliflower And Quinoa Marne:
Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 25 Minutes
Cauliflower 1 cup (cut them in to small pieces)
Luke warm water 100 ml (for soaking the Quinoa)
Quinoa 1 ½ tea spoon.
For The Cheese Sauce:
Refined flour 1 table spoon
Butter 1 table spoon
Milk 1 cup
Cheddar Cheese 150 gm (grated)
salt to taste
sugar a little bit
Thyme 5 gm (chopped)
First preheat your oven in 170 degree centigrade temperature. Then steam the cauliflower florets in Luke warm water for about 10-15 minutes. Then strain it from the soaked water and then soak it in the icy cold water.
Keep the florets on the tissue papers and then keep it in the casserole. Then soak the quinoas in water and then boil them for 10 minutes in water.
To prepare the cheese sauces melt the butter in a non stick pan in medium heat. Add refined flour and stir it to mix well. Add Luke warm water and stir it continuously to avoid lump formation. Add chopped thyme in this stage.
Keep the gas in simmer and then stir it with a wooden spatula. When it thickens removes it from the flame and add ½ cup of grated Cheddar cheese in it. Stir it briskly. When the cheese gets completely melted add Quinoa with it.
Now pour the cauliflower florets on a baking dish and pour the mixture on it. Bake the whole thing in your oven for 20 minutes. Take it from your oven and pour it on a serving plate. Cauliflower and Quinoa Marne is ready to serve.
If you wish you can use low fat milk while preparing the white sauce instead of Luke warm water.
