Yummy And Healthy Preparation Of Chickpea

Chick pea is widely used in Mediterranean dish. It is otherwise known as garbanzo beans. Regular intake of chick pea makes you strong. It helps o keep your bowel clear supplying a good amount of fiber. It serves to control diabetes, improves bone health, lowers blood pressure, improves heart health, lowers cholesterol, prevents cancer, fights obesity and many more things. Preparation Time: 5-6 Hours
Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

2 cups chick pea
1 cup minced meat of lamb
1 onion
2-3 cloves of garlic
1 small ginger
1 red chili
2-3 green chili
1 tomato
1 small cinnamon
2 green cardamom
2 cloves
salt
sugar
turmeric
vegetables oil
green coriander leaves

Methods Of Preparation:

Step 1

Soak chickpea in plain water for 5-6 hours to make it ready. Chickpea is a very hard substance unless you do not soak them in water for hours it will be extremely difficult to make them soft.

Step 2

In a grinder add onion, garlic, ginger, red chili, tomato and pinch of turmeric in a grinder. Grind it to paste.

Step 3

Chop fresh green coriander leaves and keep them aside for garnishing. Chop green chili and remove the seeds.

Step 4

In a pressure cooker add water, some salt and chick pea. Cook them till chick pea turns well soft. Remove them from the pressure cooker and strain the water.

Step 5

In a pan add 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Let them heat. Add dry spices like cinnamon, cardamom and cloves in the hot oil. Lower the flame and stir spices for ½ minute. Add other spice paste and keep stirring to fry the spices. After that, add minced meat. Stir to mix everything. Add boiled chickpea in the pan. Add a pinch of sugar and salt to taste. Add some water and keep the lid on. Cook it for further 15-20 minutes in this position. Remove the lid and check whether you have got the required consistency.

Step 6

Remove it from pan and garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves and chopped green chili. Serve it hot with fresh bread.
