Yummy Rice Krispie Treats With Peanut Butter And Marshmallow Recipe

The popular Midwest snack for munching at your tea time being the rice krispie treats are popularly known as “Scotcheroos” or “Scotcharoos”. They are crispy and gewy with a unique nutty flavor. Even though they are referred to be the best snacks for kids, they can also be taken by the grown-ups too.

These yummy treat bars are also easy to make and do not require baking. However, they taste so good that you will have no leftovers after the gathering. Also, these bars can be made even sweet by topping it with melted chocolate.

Ingredients:

2-3 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
⅔ cups peanut butter
6 cups marshmallows
6 cups rice krispies cereals

Procedure:

Step 1:

Take a medium sized saucepan and place it on the gas stove over a medium flame. Add in butter and wait till it melts completely. Add the marshmallows to this and keep stirring till it melts. Once melted, remove the pan from flame.

Step 2:

Now, add in the peanut butter to the melted mixture and stir it to form a creamy texture without lumps. It is advisable to use a wooden spoon to mix the ingredients evenly. While mixing, scratch the bottom of your pan with the spoon to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom.

Step 3:

Then, add the rice krispies cereal kept readily measured and stir the entire mixture to form a sticky mixture, which is also smooth. You have to do this step faster; if the mixture cools down completely you won’t be able to mix it smooth.

Step 4:

Meanwhile, take a wide pan or a tray, probably 9*13 inch and place a parchment paper or apply the required amount of butter to the pan to avoid the mixture from sticking to the pan. Transfer the folded mixture from the pan to this tray and press it gently with another parchment paper to prevent them from sticking to your palms.

Step 5:

Allow the mixture to cool down completely and cut them into squares or diamonds according to your taste. They can be stored in an airtight container and served when required.
