Ingredients For The Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies:
All purpose flour – 1 1/4 cup
Unsalted butter – 3/4 cup
White sugar – 1/2 cup
Light brown sugar- 1/4 cup
Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
Baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Salt – 1/4 teaspoon + little salt to sprinkle
Chocolate chips – 3/4 cup
Step By Step Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 360 degrees. Melt the butter in the oven for 30 seconds and add both white sugar and light brown sugar and beat it using a beater or stand mixer until it is creamy and fluffy.
Now mix the egg and vanilla extract and beat it for about 15 seconds until it is nicely combined and incorporated.
Add all purpose flour, baking soda, salt and nicely whisk. (you can add flour little by little and whisk to avoid over mixing). Add chocolate chips and mix it nicely so as to make sure the chocolate chips are evenly distributed. Make a dough by kneading the mixture well. The dough should be in right consistency, not too dry, not too watery to make a perfect cookie.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes for a fluffy cookie. The resting period is important.
Make balls out of dough and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and place the balls about 2- 3 inches apart. You can sprinkle and press more chocolate chips and salt as per your taste on the balls of dough. Bake it for around 10-12 minutes until it turns light golden brown and it should look soft in the middle.
Take the baking tray out and let the cookies cool down for about 30 minutes. It will fall and become flat as they cool. It will stay extra chewy for few hours and eventually will become little dense and crispy.

1. If you want to make it chewy, underbake it a few minutes less and add extra butter.
2. If you want it crispy and crunchy bake the cookies for few more minutes and flatten the dough instead of keeping it round.
3. If you want your cookie to be chocolaty, replace few tablespoon of flour with cocoa powder. You can add up-to 5 to 6 tablespoon of cocoa powder.
4. If you want a gluten free cookie to replace your all purpose flour with gluten free flour with addition to little starch like potato starch. Add double vanilla extract for enhancing flavour.
